Ephesus Kusadasi

isa Bey Mosque is situated next to Basilica of St John  lower down the slopes of Ayasuluk Hill. It was built by isa Bey, the grandson of the founder of Aydin Principality in 14th C AD. It is the earliest known example in Anatolia of a mosque that has an arcated courtyard and a pool. The columns inside the room of prayer are from earlier ruins in Ephesus.
