Ephesus Kusadasi

The Hercules Gate is located towards the end of the Curetes Street. On the gate two reliefs of Heracles can be seen depicted with the skin of nemeon lion in mythology.The gate narrowed the acces to the street to prevent the wheeled vehicles into the city. The relief of the flying Nike in Domitian square is thought to be a part of it.
